My mother woke up one morning and had a big red blood looking spot in her eye. It went away in about 2 days and yesterday she woke up and saw another one. Can someone please tell me what they are and if they can cause damage to her eye.

can't remember the specifics. if that is what it was i think they are usually harmless just not pleasant to look at. still might consider an evaluation with an opthalmologist, better safe than sorry. might try a google image search for comparison but it is always better to be seen by your doctor. take care, S
