well my 7 yo dd had her endoscopy and it went well. initially it didn't show much but the biopsy he took showed that there was definitely gastritis in the stomach lining. does anyone have any info on this? she is currently on prevacid and they want her to stay on that and see how she is in two months. thanks for any input. : )

I just went through a bunch of endoscopy's myself earlier this year before my fundoplication surgery. I didn't have gastritis, but rather GERD, but my dr explained to me before hand that the biopsy's he would take would show if there was gastritis, as you know. Well anyway, he said if that was to show up in me, then there were quite a few excellent meds out there that can help control it, Prevacid being one of them. And the fact her dr couldn't see any signs of gastritis visually, only by the biopsy, is a good sign. It isn't too advanced of a case at this point, so hopefully the meds will help her out. But obviously if in a few months it isn't helping, you may have to switch up the meds to see if some other one would help. But hopefully she'll get help with the Prevacid.
