HI LENIN AND ALL, I DID GO TO DR. TODAY AND SHE DID PUT ME BACK ON THE LIPITOR, BUT IT WAS HER IDEA TO START ON THE 10MG DOSE AND SEE IF I TOLERATE IT ALRIGHT AND IF SO THEN IF NEEDED IN 6 WEEKS UP IT TO 20MGS, SO I WILL TAKE MY FIRST ONE TONIGHT. SO WHILE I WAS THERE BEING IN MY EARLY 50'S NOW NEXT WEDNESDAY I GET TO HAVE A ENDOSCOPY AND COLONOSCOPY :D KINDA NERVOUS THOUGH. BUT I KNOW IT HAS TO BE DONE :eek:

Good luck to you! You should get pretty good results in a couple of months.

A low dose of a statin and a cholesterol-friendly diet can do wonders! I have seen quite a reduction in mine - just posted the #s in the HiTrigs thread. This was accomplished on 10mg Lipitor a day.

Good luck with your roto-rooter exams...they're not so bad and getting a "no polyps" and "no ulcers" diagnosis is always uplifting and "no cancer" enough to have you walking on air.

Oliver - I didn't know that endoscopies were routine. I've had 2 colonoscopies - both were fine. My doctor recommends them every 5 years when everything is normal. I've been taking Lipitor for a few years - no problems on it. I have blood tests every 6 months to check the levels and liver function tests as well. Also they do a blood test for muscle function.

thanks all for your reply, i hope the lipitor works just fine i know i need help, i do watch what i eat now, i do not eat alot of meat and my downfall as one of you pointed out on a previous thread my downfall is pasta's so went to the dark pasta's and rice and bread. as for the roto rooter job as lenin put it so nicely LOL my dr . here (in Iowa)says they usually do them together and i also had h.pylori last year as some of you know, has not been quite a year ago so they cannot do the blood check and i cant stay off of my prevacid for a month so they can do the breath test, so they can check on that also while they are rooting around in there, and if all is well i will be happier than pigs in "you know what"
