Hello, I'll try to make this as short as possible, but I need help, and I can;t seem to find it anywhere. Ok....Applied for SSD, turned down on initial (of course) Applied for reconsideration, turned down again. So now I am sitting here waiting for a court date in front of the ALJ, and I get this letter this past Saturday (thought it was the court date) Wrong.....here is the general body of it...Office of disability Adjudication and review (ODAR) has requested that the DDS (been there twice already) examine the evidence supporting your SSD claim. this review may result in a favorable decision on your disability claim. If we cannot make a fully favorable decision, your claim will be returned to ODAR without any interruption in the appeals process. Our review will not delay a hearing, if necessary, on your claim.......OK, SS is trying to streamline the process (cutting out reconsideration stage gradually) so why are they remanding it to the DDS yet AGAIN when I should be going in front of the ALJ? I called my lawyer, her paralegal said, "Oh everyone gets one of those" I told her, "no, I've already been turned down twice, I should be going in front of the ALJ" STILL couldn't get an answer from her! Can someone please help? I am at the end of my rope with this crap, now I am totally stressed out over this! Any answers would be greatly appreciated! P.S. I went through the "3" processes before, got turned down all the way through the ALJ, did NOT get a letter like this then. Short turned out long LOL

Voodoo,
Sorry I do not know what that letter is specifically, but here is what I think it means. Take it for what it is worth. :)
It is quite possible that the ODAR looks over each case prior to setting a hearing date. Should they see some reason that the case should have been approved prior to ALJ, they send it back for another look-see. Basicly saying, "Hey guys, don't waist the judge's valuable time, just approve this one already!" If they do not, a hearing date will be scheduled. I hope I am right, that would mean you have a very, very good case.
I just went and did some looking around the SSA hearing process, and I am not sure, but it looks like I may be right. The ODAR administers the hearing and appeals process. :bouncing:

Hi!
My take on this is that they are trying to speed thru your SSD claim rather than have you wait months to have a hearing with the A L J. There is so much backlog, and this seems to be their way streamlining the porcess. I waited nearly SIX MONTHS to be seen by the A L J - I WISH I had been offered this option!! Good luck to you!
