I've always wondered about this... One set of eyelids opens more than the other; it produces a rounder effect than the other. I had strabismus surgery as a kid and I've always wondered whether they could have messed up the muscle alignment when they did that? Nobody I've told buys it, of course, especially since they mess with eye muscles, not lid muscles. Maybe I'm just making excuses? http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Some of the nerves that keep your upper & lower eyelids in the open position could have been slightly damaged during the strabismus surgery.

It is possible to develop ptosis (droppy eye lid) after strabismus surgery. However, if I had to choose a "diagnosis" I would probably go with the fact that altering the position of the eye muscles can often alter the position of the globe in the socket making one eye appear larger than the other. Also, since you had your surgery as a child and seem a little fuzzy on the specifics of your pre-op condition there is a distinct possibility that any nerve involvement, if present, was congenital and not caused by surgery.

Ask your parents for details and or see if your childhood records are available if it bothers you not knowing the specifics.
