Anyone have these types of seizures? I've been having them for about 16 years now. Mine are usually in my sleep. I haven't seen anyone mention these types of seizures on this board. Didn't know if I was the only one.

There's several of us that have posted about complex partial motor seizures. Whenever I have had mine they have always been a blank-stare-they'd last about 30 seconds. I've never have an aura to for-warn me about it. I usally would just continue with whatever I was doing. Cherie :)

Mine are nocturnal also. But if I'm awake and excessively tired or overdid it, or was provoked. The aura would come first, then the CP's would strike and it could last for about a few seconds to a minute, and I would talk and not make any sense, and wander aimlessly, but while I have no memory of anything, my son or his buddies would have me sit on the couch. Then I would have a massive headache and would drift off to sleep very quickly.

I've had these for decades; some during the day; some at night. I do have auras, and I sleep like I"m dead afterwards. (others have told me I'm white, cold, and hardly breathing, so they've thought I was dead, also....). My tongue gets chewed up, along with the inside of my cheeks. I always feel like I've been hit by a truck, and usually end up with a nasty headache. I've taken Tegretol and Klonopin for years; I'm also on Neurontin for another disorder, but figure the anticonvulsant properties can't hurt, and have as needed Ativan for when I first feel the auras- seems to help with the duration and depth of how I sleep afterwards.

my daughter is 4. she has had the complex partial seizures, the blank stare, and eye flutter.......all throughtout the day, and even when she's asleep she has them. i know this only because she has had sleep studies. now they have diagnosed her with generalized seizures. she is on Depaakote Sprinkles now, and she is doing soooooooo much better. she very rarely has them!! :D
i think it's been a couple days since i've seen one. :bouncing:

I too have had CP seizures, I have had them for 40 years.Everyone
tells me I mumble and pick at my clothes, and that I try to walk around,
but, they will try to make me sit down if they can,so I will not get hurt.
Mine will last about a minute or two.I only have mine around my period,
those are called catamenial(in case you don't know).Take care.

Thanks everyone! I've had the mumbling and incoherent speech once in awhile, but usually I pass out. I can hear people talking to me, I just can't respond. I can't move much either on my own.

Thanks for sharing everyone! :)

I have complex partial seizures as well. However, I have noticed that the only time I really have them is when I am having my menstrual period. They really scare me and I need to talk to the doctor about them. I had a Vagus Nerve Stimulator implanted in me to help control them, but there may be another way to control them during that time.

Hi remtana,

I also pass out sometimes, but,I am out cold,I don't hear
or see anyone.Mine are drop attack seizures.Sometimes
mine may start out as a CP,but, most of the time I have
no warning when it is a drop attack.

Take care,Sherri
