View Full Version : abnormal EKGs

Hello,

I think I am posting this in the right place - at least I hope I am.

I recently got my medical records from my April hospitalization. I found two EKGs that had abnormal readings that no one told me about. They both indicate inferior infarcts but the Dr. crossed this out and wrote - doubt. Then he wrote Repolarization variant. I have looked this up on several search engines but I cannot get a definition of what it is.

Can anyone tell me where to look to try to figure this out.

Thank you for your help. Bern

Hi Bern,

I tried it by putting quotation marks around the term, like this:

"Repolarization variant" and found 9000+ articles! The first 10 all seem to want to distinguish it from pericarditis. Does that sound like something you've heard before?

Try it yourself with the quotation marks and see if that's helpful.

And..... good for you for requesting your records!! So many people are reluctant to ask, but there is so much to be learned from them.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Thank you - I did do that and since I have never had a problem with pericarditis I didn't think that was what I was looking for. I'm going to keep searching through the weekend to see what I can come up with. But, I have decided not to stress myself over it.

Thanks to a great person on the lupus boards I have requested all my records and it really is a good thing. Thanks again for your help.
