Hi everyone, my hair is growing in now after my chemotherapy. It is very brittle looking at the ends and its grey:dizzy: Does anyone know when it is safe to use a hair dye and if anyone has done this did it turn out okay? Ijust want to be able to go out and about without my wig on and have my own hair looking kind of normal again .Thanks everyone

Hey Phyl :)
Congrats on the hair!!! ain't it fun? lol. How much hair do you have? What type of shampoo are you using? My sister, who had bilateral BC 24 yrs ago, told me to only use baby shampoo cuz its like baby hair coming in. Yours is brittle??? Mine came in baby fine, not sure if its because I used baby shampoo or not. Then my hair wouldn't lay down so I wore one of my beanies to get it to stay down. My hair before all this was down to my waist, brunette and straight. NOW it is curly (cute) salt and pepper in color and starting to touch my neck. I plan to leave it short for a while, looks really nice. So I'm told lol, but I like it too.
Well take care. Sorry I couldn't answer the dye question. Maybe your beautician may have experience with that.
Love & Hugggs,
Linda

Hey there JoJo,
I had 8 treatments of chemo and then waited 3 weeks before I started my radiation treatments. My hair started growing back after about a week or so after starting my radiation. My radiation doc said I'd probably lose it all but I didn't. woo hoo lol. What days are you doing your chemos on? I am so excited you are almost done. High 5 girl!!!!
Hugs,
Linda

hi jojo, i finished my chemo in feb 07.It has been very slow at coming back.Short and wavy but brittle at the ends. Ihave been desperate for it to grow so i don't have to wear my wig to work.

Hi :) Glad to hear the hair coming in Phyl! Isnt it great?? Mine use to be past the middle of my back..red and straight... now its brown with a little grey and CURLY wholly cow. I was told to wait awhile to color it ..although.. I'm afraid to touch it. I was told to use a clairifying shampoo to keep it coming in soft. I use "Nexus Rid" if that helps you any. Mine seemed real grey at first for some odd reason.. then "browned up" more.
Hey Jojo.. my hair was ok to skip the hat about midstream radiation..it was a tad longer than peach fuzz... my first time in public without the hat was at my radiation appt. It was so weird.. liberating and embarrasing all in the same. Are you doing ok after your treatment Friday?? The worst is almost over!!! Hang in there.

Hi Jillery,
Thanks for the info. I have a little fuzz going. Yes I felt pretty good after my first treatment of Taxol. I had 4 treatments of A/C prior, which the last 2 wore me out. I hope the next 3 taxol are the same.
Take Care,
JoJo
