I am new to applying to Social Security, so bear with me. I completed and sent in all my papers at the begining of July. They have set up a telephone appointment for me at the end of this month. What happens after that? Is this the person who approves or disapproves my SSDI?

Hi,
I wasn't sure if you need the large print, but hope this is ok.
I applied by telephone interview. This person is your case worker. The decision is made by other people, who look over your medical records, etc. and with SSA's own medical experts, make a decision based on the info you have given them.
I applied over the phone. I called my case worker 3 times and left a message, but she never returned my calls. I was approved anyway.
Good luck.
Hellas
