My hubby received a letter today from our senator that said the Disabilty review board told him that my hubby's case was assidgned to a law judge and was in work up. Can someone tell me if this means that he is getting closer to a hearing date????

Thanks,
Nancy

Hi!

It sure sounds like it! There's no way to predict when you will hear from the office of the A L J, unfortunately, but when you do, they will give you the date for the hearing. Hope you hear soooon!

Yes, it does sound like the hearing is coming up. The usually expected time period from the time you apply until the time you finally go to the hearing can be anywhere from 8 to 15 months. In my case, it took about 14.

This is the first time that the letter from the senator said that, it usually said something different. It has been 31 months since my husband first applied for SSD. I believe that they think the average "JOE" will and do give up because they can't afford to be without income for so long. Well it has been hard for us as I am sure it has for everyone but he can no longer hold a job or do any kind of work, so we are not giving up.
Thanks for the replys everyone....
I hope everyone gets the answers to their prayers soon.

Nancy
