View Full Version : Side Effect of Zoloft - Back Pain?

Just curious if anyone has heard of Zoloft causing back pain? I was diagnosed with depression 6 years ago and have been on Zoloft since. My back started to really bother me shortly after getting on the Zoloft. I am extremely stiff in the morning which causes extreme pain (which I take vicotin and avinza for) and I find if I can muster up the strength to exercise which isn't often, I stiffen up soon after which again causes more pain. I know exercise is good for back problems but most of the time I have to lay down to try to get through the day. Plus I have gained 35 pounds due to my meds and lack of exercise. The pain is most of the time in my mid to lower back and sometimes it's on one side of the spine or the other or both. The pain is a burning one and sometimes a very dull achy one. I have had MRI's, X-Rays, you name it and nothing comes up. Seen several doctors which have said it's somewhere between fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, or hypothyroidism. Just recently I found that back pain is a side effect of Zoloft and I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this and where did they hear this? Thanks. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
