Hi and welcome,

All drugs have possible side effects, but not everyone will experience them. Everyone has a different body chemistry so what works for one person may not work for another. Personally I was on prozac many years ago and had to stop it because of gastrointestinal issues (gave me diarrhea).

I stopped for the same reason... NOT fun.

Prozac wasn't the one for me- actually made my mood swings worse instead of better- but it works very well for many people. I had another friend in the Army who was on it and it was great for her.

I actually wasn't on prozac long enough to see if it helped my moods because of the side effects. When I told my doctor about it she took me off it. It was the very first antidepressant I ever tried, about 13 years ago.

I had to stop prozac because of anxiety and insomnia.
