View Full Version : Finally Had Neuro Appointment

It went really well. He asked the questions that I wanted him to and ordered the tests that I wanted done all without any prodding from me ;). I was really nervous about that having read so many posts about jerky neuros. I will be having my nerve test on Friday, MRI of C and T spine as soon as insurance approval goes through and had some more (9 vials!) bloodwork done today. He basically said that it could be a virus or MS. I have never even seen a tick, so I am thinking that Lyme is out of the question. I am just really happy to be progressing toward an answer (hopefully) and I finally feel like I can relax a little and let the doctor do his job. Thanks to all who have answered my questions and I will keep y'all posted.

Jill, it sounds like your doctor is being very thorough, which is great. Re: Lyme, it's turning out to be just about as mysterious as MS. One of the things that's now known is that it can be transmitted in other ways than a tick bite.

I've been learning a lot about Lyme and other types of bacteria -- don't want to confuse the issue here so I'll save that for a post at a later date. For now, I wish you the best and am glad you feel good about your doctor.

Bearygood - I had heard that about Lyme, but not sure about the reliability of the source. My doctor is testing for it. I am not really thinking too much about that possibility since I live in a state with a high incidence of MS and virtually NO Lyme disease. I was really hoping that it was my B-12 levels, but no such luck. Oh well, hopefully I will know more soon enough.
