No - but anything is worth a try. I don't know what meds you have, but I don't think they are the ones for you. I briefly had prozac, (as I thought the dothiapin wasn't working). I was up every night til gone 4am). No one can fuction like that. I certainly didn't. I hope you doctor finds something that will be beneficial to you. No one should have to feel this way and for so long too. I feel you're existing, not living. good luck. :)

Jen,

Did you reference the search feature on healthboards.com in the upper left corner at the top of this page?

Just type in seroquel.

Hi Lost....seroquel was one of the drugs I took short term years ago. I can't take the SSRI"s as they make me hyper. Elavil was great. Can't take it now do to my diabetes and HBP. I loved seroquel but I was working full-time at the time and didn't have the time to get through the drousy feeling I had. If I had a Dr. at the time who maybe lowered the dosage or had me take it every other day I might have had better luck. It did calm me and gave me a good night's sleep. So did the elavil. I found the elavil to be easier with the drousyness at first. Easier to get used to. They both seem to cause weight gain but not excessive. M personally, never suffered any other side effects to either drug. I always tell people to keep in mind that the SSRI group of drugs in 99% of people cause insomnia and aggitation. Then they need to be countered with an anti-anxiety. Whereas elavil and seroquel help depression, insomnia, aggitation and seem to keep most people calmer so they can get into therapy and get somewhere.

My girlfriend is on Seroquel and she swears by it... The only thing she complained about was taking in the day time since it knocked her out so now she takes it at night and loves it...

Like ICC I can't take SSRI's as well, they put me in maniac mode and that's only because I'm Bipolar....

Right on Dee. I'm not BP but have the response that I am while taking an SSRI. they make me crazy in numerous different ways. I always took the seroquel at night. Dr. told me sometimes it takes a couple of weeks for the morning fatigue to go away. I was up at 5:00 for work and even if I took it at 6:00 p.m. I still was "hungover" in the morning. Maybe the lowest dosage to start Lost...while you're off from work. It might buy you some time for it to take affect.
