Well I am back from my operation on July 9th and aside from headaches and sleeping, I am doing okay. The first couple of days were extremely painful but I am doing better a week and two days later. Please if anyone is on the fence between getting the operation or not my doctor said the anuerysm would not have lasted out the year. Makes the pain worth it, because I am here to feel it. Take care all!!!

CLAP CLAP CLAP i am SOOOO happy to hear from you hon, really.i was just thinking of you while i was on here yesterday trying to remeber and looking up when your surgery was supposed to be.that must have been a shocker to hear THAT from your doc huh?that is what really freaked me out the most.the thought of not being able to actually have this either coiled or clipped and just having to 'monitor" it.scarey stuff there.so what did they give you as far as prognosis?any problems that are there now that were not pre op?i so happy you are safe and sound again onyx, really.i KNOW you were scared right before you went in.thats when i actually had a full blown anxiety attack.five minutes before the coiling and just trying to imagine what my very first real recollection was going to be after they put me out ya know?this was the only anxiety attack i have ever ever had in my entire life.very freaky.just brought on by pure fear.its amazing what we can create in ourselves sometimes.

just glad its over and your hear again hon, really.just take it nice and slow and don't push anything,K?Marcia

I actually had this peace come over me right before. I had a very cute picture of my son in my hand and just focused on him until they put me out. I don't remember much except holding the picture. They even put me out before they straped me down to the table. My team was very nice and took my mind off of what was happening and didn't submit me to a lot of the pre-op stuff. They put me out within minutes of getting back to the surgery room.

Feelbad: Did you have headaches afterwards? How long did it take for them to get back to normal? I have one 100% of the time. I am on Norco right now and you know those are my weakness. I am trying to be very good and only take them when I need them but then I wait too long and get a terrible headache that the only thing I can do is sleep.

Onyxgates,
So glad everything went well. Sorry about the headaches, but I'm sure those will resolve in time. I'm so happy it was a great success.
God Bless

onyx, ask for something stronger, unless the hydro is actually working for you.after my coiling,i had these really ugly headaches only in one spot on my aneurysm side.they stayed for about one week.you just had a flippin craniotomy hon, geez.i can imagine what you are feeling.my neurorad rxed me dilaudid and it worked soo well.i had not even asked for anything,he just knew i was going to have the post coiling headaches that the majority of people get.even going to oxycodone would,i think be understandable and not an out of the norm request.considering your type of surgery, asking for anything a bit stronger for pain i would think would be completely understandable,ya know?if they okay using ice packs at the surgical site, with one also at the base of your neck that can also help some with the head pain.so sorry you are having to deal with that type of pain.head pain just sucks.but am sooo happy you came thru this okay.just call your surgeon and see what they can do for you if the hydro isn't working for you.it can't hurt to ask ya know?hang in there onyx, this will all just be a bad memory soon.keep me posted,K?marcia

Actually the Norco works just fine but I just want to make sure my craving doesn't make me take more Norco than I need. I am down to 4-5 a day, and the headaches are getting less intense. The incision pain is becoming more intense but hopefully that will subside soon as well. Thank you to all of the well wishes. It really does make me feel better. I will keep you posted, I should be returning to work on a reduced schedule next week. Take care everyone!!!
