ok here's the story:
i have a stigmatism and i still do a litlle bit.i had surgery for it. the doc was going to tighten the muscles to make my eyes stop shaking to much. well the still shake and when he was done i couldn't open my eyes for 2 days!! there was another kid that got hte surgery done an hour before me and his eyes open an hour later!! well i couldn't open them because i had 7 stitches in each eyeball and he had to burn my eye it was bleeding so much. he said i was the worst case or whatever. i had no white part in my eyes it was all ed. people kept asking me if i was high and the principal even asked!! well that was a year and 2 months ago and my eyes are still a little red. not really bad but if i rub my eyes the smallest bit they get so red people start asking me if i'm high again!!sometimes i just wake up and they are red!!
does anyone know what makes your eyes whiter? if there is anything.

Angel, what you desribe is nystagmus not astigmatism. It sounds like you had eye muscle surgery to attempt to dampen the movement and/or improve an associated head tilt. I am sorry that your recovery was so rough. I understand how scary and painful it can be. After my first strabismus repair, I had an awful suture reaction and my eye was swollen almost shut for about a week, and remained swollen and red for almost 6 weeks. There is still some redness at the incision sites, and I believe there always will be.

Since it has been more than a year since your surgery, I really think you need to see an ophthamologist to rule out other causes for your eye irritation and redness. You could be suffering from dry eyes, allergies, blepharitis or other problems. If you do not feel confident in the MD who performed your surgery, then find another. Given your history, it would be unwise to attempt to treat your eyes with over the counter drops etc. without a MD's OK. Using the wrong thing could make the situation worse.

I hope that your eyes feel better soon!
