In 1993 I had cataract surgery on my left eye. Everything was fine until March 2002 when the ophthalmologist noted that my implant had moved. What I was seeing was a double view through this eye. The surgery that followed in May 2002 was to remove the old IOL implant and to put a new one in. I was told by the surgeon that I would have 3-4 stitches.
After the surgery I asked how many stitches I had and the surgeon indicated he lost count at 7. Because of the number of stitches and the tightness of them this caused a stigmatism which resulted in my having a reading of 1500 for sight. The surgeon then removed a few of the stitches and the sight improved.
In October 2002 I was informed by the surgeon that I needed laser treatment to break up some scar tissue but he did not want to do it for at least six months after the surgery.
Here is my problem - I recently had the laser treatment and I am now having a problem with a blurring in the eye. It seems like I am looking through a fingerprint. This usually goes away in a short period of time. Has anyone else here had that type problem after laser treatment? My ophthalmologist tells me it is in the fluid of the eye and that I have to live with it.
My concern is I have since had the right eye (had cataract surgery on that eye in 1992) laser treated and I am getting the same thing in that eye. I am just praying that the blurring does not happen in both eyes at the same time because it definitely does affect my sight and I don't know what I would do if it happens when I am driving.
Can anyone tell me if they have had this happen to them after laser treatments and if it goes away.
