I have had TMJ for a month and a week i was wondering if this is lifelong. I heard it both ways with some people having no effects at all after 7 months or a year. Is this even possible?

I've had TMJ for over 15 years and the closest thing I have come to a cure was using a bio-feedback method where you train your jaw not to clench anymore. It really has worked wonders for me and I could never imagine wearing a gross nightguard again or throwing away all that $ on something that eases the damage to your teeth but doesn't stop the grinding itself.

Yes I believe it can, although for me its been 2.5 years and still working on it.
Its a matter of finding the right dentist , every case is individual.
