Hi I am 46 years old, smoke, do not drink, but over the last few years have had chest pains in my left side, under my breast bone, it feels like someone is squeezing my breast form the inside out, which come on for no reason and go away as fast as they started a dull ache i would call it, I get tingling in my left arm and my face feels funny on the left side, Had echo about four years ago and it was descibed as essentialy normal with some backflow . However recently i was cleaning and I had what i can only describe as the worst heartburn ever, It started from no where in the middle of my chest, and it was a deep burn, pressure feeling, I also had a feeling of a lump in my throat, i was sweaty and felt sick and dizzy, and nauseous, i thew up. I had to go lay down, this feeling lasted about 30 mins. I also have tingling in my arm and throat and a kind of numbness which radiates to my face. I saw the doctor , he is sending me for blood test to check it out, he also gave my gb spray for under my tongue, was this a heart attack, or am i being very stupid and hypochondriac, appreciat answers

hi izzy. i too have the same problem. i have had it for about 6 years now and i havew had every test done you could think of. they say its not cardiac.i get really bad chest pains.as you. my left arm, upper back, i also have very low blood pressure. they say i have vasovagel. which is low blood pressue. but they don't know what is causing it. so for now i take salt tablets and drink alot of water. everyday. ask your doctor to have you tested for this. i had a test done called a tilt table test and this is how they found out about vasovagel. as for the chest pain they are still trying to figure this out. i will keep you up to date with it and if i get to the source i will let you know good luck

I also suffer from the same thing. I had a tilt table test done but I passed it. They still believe that I have vasovagal because when I was in the hospital and hooked to a monitor I had an episode when my heart rate dropped to 35 BPM when I stood up. My doctors are at a loss with me....they don't know what to do with me! I have constant chest pressure, tightness in my left arm, and now I have developed this headache where it feels like I am being zapped......it is so strange because I can feel it in my jaw and throat. I feel your pain and hopefully someone can find out what is wrong with us!! Good luck to you.

You need a nuclear stress test; get is as soon as possible.

In the meantime take a whole adult aspirin every day.

It sounds most like you suffered a severe bout of angina...but a heart attack is possible.
