I was wearing my contacts then noticed all the little lines coming from the inside of the eye out! When I got my contacts he told me he could see allergies in my eyes. Well, I have stopped wearing my contacts thinking it would get better with no luck. My eyes have become a mess, they are dry and red lines running through them that are always there, I think broken vessels. I cant use drops to get the red out because that makes it worse, and when I use the allergy drops I wake up with swollen eyes! I'm at my wits in on this eye thing and its been like this for months, does anyone know what's going on or what I could use to help. My eyes look like a road map only in this small area in the inside of both eyes!!Does anyone know what would cause broken vessels in the eyes?
Thanks for any help in advance!!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Have you been back to the eye dr? You shouldn't be using any sort of over the counter drops other than preservative free artificial tears. It's good that you're not wearing the contacts anymore. You could have been allergic to your contacts, the solution, etc...
If it is an allergy then a prescription allergy drop would probably be the best thing, but they do burn for a second or two. And you're right... never use anything that claims to get the red out. Don't use any more allergy drops until you go back to the eye dr. In the meantime, stick with the tear drops. And make an appointment to see the eye dr! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thank you purple, I knew I could count on you for help.
I have not been back to the eye doc yet, we just made a major move and I just have not gone.
Right now I'm using Systane for some dry eye relief. I stay away from any of them that gets the red out, it causes rebound redness that looks really bad!
Also, when I close my eyes they burn really bad, do you think thats allergies?
Well, thanks for taking the time to help me!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

You are very welcome. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
Since I am not a dr, I cannot make a diagnosis. It could be allergies, but who knows? You really need to be examined.
If I were you I'd stay away from systane as I have heard it can cause burning. Use something like thera tears or bion tears.

Hey Purple, have you ever heard of Similasan drops for allergy eyes? The say it is all natural and will not cause the rebound redness. Do you know anything about them? Thanks http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I've heard of them, but I have never tried them. I don't really know much about them. Sorry. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif For me it might be risky to use them, since I am allergic to so many things and a lot of eyedrops give me bad reactions.

It's just such a shame that I have learned all that I know about eye problems through first hand experience! I would much rather have learned it through reading a book!!!
Are you feeling any better? Have you been to see the eye dr?
