please help me, im 20 years old, and i cant stand it anymore. i never used to have eye problems and suddenly last summer out of the blue, i started to have these problems.. i went to about 10 doctors and each one seemed to give me a different diagnosis, and they all thought it was in my head. then finally the last doctor i went to seemed to help me, i almost never got the symptoms anymore; then every 2 months i used to get the problem and he gave me some type of low cortisone and everything was fine. now im really stressed out because im leaving for one month vacation and my eyes have been bothering me already for about 20 days and everything i use dosent seem to help me.. i really dont want to be in a bad mood in my vacation, and i hate it that everything seems to stop just because i have this horrible eye pain and it burns really bad.. i also wear contact lenses, and i hate not wearing them..
pleaseee help me!!!!

Do you know for sure that it's blepharitis that you have? If so, have you been doing warm compresses, for approximately 15 minutes? Afterwards, have you been massaging your eye lids(if there's any clogged glands), and then cleaning your eye lids? I'd also recommend preservative free artificial tears. Thera Tears are great, as are Bion Tears.
Blepharitis can take months to get under control...or so I'm told. I think that mine might (I'd like to emphasive might...could just be a good week) finally be just starting to improve. I've been following all the doctors orders since...early April I think.
Good luck!

thanks for the advice. what has your doctor told you to use? do you also wear contact lenses? because i dont know if its such a good idea to wear them while i have this problem. I use the cold compresses and they lid cleaners, but nothing seems to work. has anyone found a cure for blepharitis?
Iīm sure its blepharitis because I have a lot of little bumps in both my lower and upper eye lids, and the only doctor that seemed to cure me for a while diagnosed me with it.

Contact lenses probably aren't the best idea while the blepharitis is acting up. I tried going back to contact lenses right before my own problems started. I haven't worn them since January or February. I do plan to try them again when and if I ever feel like this is under control.
As for the cold compresses you're doing, that will help how they feel, but it won't do anything to unclog those glands. For that, you need warm compresses. I just found something that works really well for this, recommended to me by my doctor. Take a potato, heat it up so that it's warm(not hot), and wrap a washcloth around it. I cut the potato in half and used one half for each eye, wrapped inside the washcloth. This kept it very warm...better than anything else I've tried.
The typical treatment when it's really bothering you would be warm compresses 4 times per day. I usually do it about 15 minutes each time. My doctor said I only needed to do it once though...which is true when it's under control.
After the warm compress, I'll usually massage my eyelids. Then I'll do my lid scrubs.
It's a terrible inconvenience, especially when you need to do it 4x a day. But for most people, the warm compresses and lid scrubs need to be continued daily, or at least every other day when completely under control, for life. There is no cure.
Perhaps that explains why yours keeps coming back. It seems to be chronic, as most cases are.

My dr said that if you want to do cold compresses, to still use the warm compresses to unclog the glands, and to make sure you wait at least half an hour to an hour after using a warm compress, before using a cold one. If you use a cold one right after the warm one, you are just going to clog the glands again. But I just wanted to to know that I believe you can still use cold compresses if you have Blepharitis.

(i just wrote a huge note and it didnīt go through, so here it goes again). thanks for the advice. I just cant stand my eyes something, and it is really hard to go through because nobody seems to understand. I just dont know what happened because my blepharitis seemed to be completely under control, and suddenly it got completely out of control again, and all the drops the doctor gives me donīt seem to work, but they make it worse. Im going to the doctor tomorrow, so lets see what he tells me. at the beginning, after going to all other doctors, i finally went to him and he gave me blephagel to clean my eye lids, its great because you dont have to rinse afterwards. then he gave me an ointment and some low steroids called something bleph.... especially to treat blepharitis, and it worked great, after suffering 6 straight months i was finally cured. but now it came back and nothing seems to work, so im going to talk to the doctor tomorrow and see what he suggests.. anything that works ill keep you all in touch..
i just hate blepharitis, there really isnt any cure for it..
