Long story short (can only type highlights)

2000: spinal fusion at C5/6/7 due to MVA. 80% better afterwards.

2004: yet again rear ended MVA: did PT, Trigger Points, Pain Meds, massages, more PT, more PT, more Meds, more MEDS, more meds than most dope addicts take, more doctors, more trigger points, TMD therapy, anti depressants. Worked all through this as best as I could. Left employer due to pain. Waited 6 months (refused to believe I couldn't work) applied and got dream job great first 3 months then was terminated because "it seems something is bothering you"

August 2006 Filed for SSI at suggestion of PMD who stated (in insurance report for MVA) "patient will need lifetime treatments of Fentanyal, PT, TMD, Psych. etc"--denied (hubby works). SSD case open and pending. Insurance case is still pending. Doctors and PT reports get in the case.

Husband tries to move me closer to home state due to his lack of..well..we have some problems due to all this. It's taking a toll on our marriage.

New docs in new home state do disogram..facet blocks..3 levels are breaking down. He wants to try to fuse and refuse just two. He thinks he can offer some relief if he can take previous cage off (from SEVEN years ago). He tells me after surgery he could not fuse one level and I will always live with pain.

SSA wants me to see psyc this week coming. I have not been able to work in over a year. My SS case is just now paper finished, because I left one state for another in the mist of this and before my post op appointment (surgery done in June) my PMD would not write a script for me while I recouped at my moms so I had to go cold turkey off of the fentanyal. The worse week of my life.

Depressed? I don't even care anymore. I want to care; but I just don't.

Wow, sounds like you have been through alot. Any kind of Pain can sure make a person depressed. Pain lives with me everyday too. One thing i try to do is get into a pool of water, seems to relax me at the time. Somedays i have to really force myself due to pain just exhausts me. Just an idea for you, a short relief from pain can make a great difference. Maybe i should have been a Mermaid, just kidding. Hang in there with the filing for ssd, it's a long haul and can definately add stress.

Behappy I had just had to add to your posting. I also ONLY get relief from pain if I am in water. I try to go to my brother- in- laws as often as I can to use his hot tub. At home I stand in the shower and let the shower head pulsate on my pain and recently I bought at a garage sale(LOL) a conair whirlpool, the kind that hangs over the tub. It does help somewhat but nothing compared to actually soaking in a REAL hot tub. It is the only thing that for a few short moments it actually makes me feel 'painfree'. I really really feel so much better just letting the jets hit my many areas of pain. My question is ..... I wonder if someone really and truely benefits from a whirlpool if ordered by your doctor if your insurance would help in anyway. I think in the long run it would be beneficial to the company. It would be cheaper than a life long physical therepy route or perhaps office calls for relief. I truely think it would be a good idea and I know myself if I had a whirlpool at home I would be less likely to have to ever go to any type of therepy. It must be something to do with the water and the pulsating action but to me it is just a lifesaver at times when the pain is so bad I just can't seem to go on..... anyone ever try to get insurance to help with the cost of one ????........ just curious and desperate here !!
