Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone is doing well. It is raining here in PA today, and we all know what rain does to our bodies...so it is not the best day for me! I was just wondering what people felt like at ten weeks. I am really having a hard time, I still have alot of pain, if feel that when I am standing up or sitting, my back is very weak (and I know that I haven't used those muscles for a long time and it will take time, but it just feels different), can't sit for more than about an hour without alot of pain. I remember prior to surgery my doctor said maybe 12 weeks I could return to work, and in no way I am near that point!! Am I normal?? Is it normal to not feel good yet??? Please help!

Hi, I was just thinking about you and wondering how you are doing.

Everyone heals at different speeds and based upon their individual circumstances. I am at 5 months and personally I could not even think about working now. Does that mean the same thing for you? Absolutely not.

I really remember turning the corner at 15 weeks myself as far as sitting and bending at the knees. Standing and walking is still an issue for me at 5 months.

When I go from sitting to standing, I feel like I am at least 100 years old. My body just does not move like it used to and I swear my hardware needs an oil job.

Hope this helps some and I strongly recommend with the approval of your surgeon that you try and use a hot tub or go into a pool and just move those legs. That has helped strengthen me so much.

Good luck on your recovery.

Mandrel99,
Hi mandrel99, you are making me sound as normal as you ! !
I thought I was the only one unable to go back to work, sit for long or walk for long. Mind you walking has improved. You might have seen my earlier post Round1 eight weeks post fusion venting off.

What can I say I think we are in the same boat. The only good thing is the buddies here say it will get better, and we have improved this far so please God it will continue.
