Ok--I had my hearing with the ALJ on Jan.30,2007. Here it is July 23,2007 and I STILL have not heard from them. I have called my senator, they tell me the exact same thing as the hearing board does--my laywer--who tells me NOTHING but to wait--she will not do a blasted thing--the hearing board--which keeps on telling me-its with the decision writers--the 800# which says--we haven't heard anything yet--------I am going crazy. No money and out of places to help me pay utilities....The local office has told me that as soon as something is done at the hearing board that they(the local office) will have to call me in for an interview--WHAT???? All he will tell me about this "interview" is that is to show how have I been living--WHAT the heck is this? I haven't heard of anyone having to do this before they get thier check--does anyone know of ANYTHING I can do and what on earth is this "interview"????? Thanks, Belle
P.S. I sent my eviction notice to the hearing board but even that hasn't helped....

realbelle, I am sooo sorry you are going thru this!!! I have a few questions for you..at your hearing were you approved? if you dont know and were waiting for the judges rulling for a yea or nay..this can take up to 6 months in some cases. I know of a guy who is still waiting after 6 months..hes still counting and has jumped through all the hoops a couple times now.
not to scare you but, it has been known to happen of peoples cases being lost or sitting on someones desk collecting dust. sad but true.
some folks are lucky and get the rulling quite soon or just have a couple of months wait before getting there check.
If you were approved at the hearing level, I would call the office of hearings and appeals and see what they say about your paperwork..ie if they sent it on to the processing center..or where ever they are supposed to send it once the judge makes a rulling on your case..if so, call the processing center..call your case worker too. keep calling all your numbers until you get someone that will answer your questions! (also, call your bank everyother day to check the ballance. sometimes ssd sends the check before the notice of aproval) I know how stressfull this is for you..hang in there and a plague on the people who kick you out of your home in you situation!

sorry! sorry! on the interview thing..maybe because you sent in your eviction notice they want to interview you on the living thing..in most cases of homlessness it speed's up the process not slow it down! but, they still want evidence of homelessness hench the interview. Just more paper work and time. keep your head up..wishing you good news soon! take care

Thanks everyone, As soon as I know what all this is I will let ya'll know. At the hearing, the ALJ said--"it all looks good--I have to check your husbands work record" --I am a widow so applied for widows benefits. His work record was super so that wasn't a problem. Even though it took 13 mths to get the hearing--the judge still didn't have my husbands records! From what I have been told--the judge made his decision and sent it to be typed on March 16. It sat on a desk from March 16 to June 18.On June 18--it went to be typed--which is where they are saying it STILL is. For a very weird thing--on may 2, a man from ODAR headquarters called me and told me that my case had been sent to the payment center and that I needed to double check that the payment center had my correct address.Sooooo, I call the payment center--they tell me--they don't have it. So on about may 24 or so, I call back the man at headquarters and he says--he didn't call me.....I have his name and number on my answering machine and his message--so I don't know anymore. If anyone finds out anything, please let me know. Prayers, Belle
