Hi Everyone:
I've been having troubles with my bladder and bowels of late, in addition to back and pelvic pain, so I begged my doctor to do some testing.
First he did a colonoscopy, and that was normal so he said I probably had IBS. The symptoms (and pain) have been getting worse, so last week he ordered an endovaginal ultracound and called me today with the results.
I have two complex ovarian cysts on my right ovary (one is 2.2 cm and the other is 4.0 mm.), and he "suggests" I see a GYN in the next month or so, "just to be safe". I had my left ovary removed in 1976 due to a 10 cm benign cyst, and have given birth to four children since then.
I am 54 years old and finished up with menopause about four years ago. From all I've read a woman past menopause shouldn't have ovarian cysts. How concerned should I be that this is cancer? Right now I'm paralyzed with fear and afraid to take this any further.
Thank you for any information you can shed on this.
Marge
