View Full Version : No more Brace...

Hello gang,

I just thought that I would drop you all a note and let you know that I have been brace free for a week now. Things are so much better; I think that I have learned my lesson at pushing things to far.

The flair up was way over rated and as we all know no fun at all.
The back is sore in the back as usual / it does not feel like it is inflamed at all and the waves of numbness are gone for the most part. I have no idea what it was all about a couple of weeks ago. I am hard headed and I guess that should have taught me a thing or two...

The work is challenging and I chat with people with back problems among others and I can relate to them. They seem to realize it in idle " chit chat" as I try to help them with the answers that they have about thier claims. I have a lot to learn in this department of being a CSR, but it is nothing that I cannot handle. Im sure everyday will get easier/it does not help that my back is sore and hurts as well...IT is hard to focus on what is being said and all of the screens that I have to go through in just helping one customer. But I like a good challenge as we all do on this board. :D :D

I just wanted to touch base and say all to all my dear friends on this board...

Roy, I have been following your post and I know you had a bad couple of weeks, ut I have to tell you, you really seem to be a success with this sugery. I am so happy for you, going on with life, working and decreasing pain. I pray that you continue on that path. God Bless:angel:

kkmom: Yes I think that things should be better in the future. I went and schdeluled the follow up CT / MRI on the 13th of next month and have the Surgeon visit on the 16th to see how things are going on the 16th at a little over 6 months and 4 days...:D :D

Round1: I have read all of your posts and it seems that things are going well for you in your recovery. Today went 1000000% percent better at the workmens comp window so to speak. I made an remarkable recovery and had a great day over all. My back does get sore and we are in the process of getting a back support for it so that things are better towards the end of the day... Hopefully it will not take to long to get one in...

More later, Thanks to all of the back buddies out there.

Hi Roy,
It's good to hear you sounding so well, and I'm so glad the job is turning out to be such a good thing. I have a girlfriend who had her second one level fusion just before Christmas. She had to go back to work in February, but she has an ice-pack belt that she takes with her. It's made a huge difference for her. Just gave her some relief when she got too sore. Ice doesn't work for me, but a heating pad helps a lot. If you can find and ice-pack belt, that might be a good thing to keep with you at work. She's had hers for years and didn't remember where she got it, but a medical supply store or a pharmacy with a large medical supply area would probably have it.

Just a suggestion.

Yea, a paycheck!!!

I am glad you are feeling better. The flare ups are bad I know. I am still fighting my worst one. I don't wear the brace at home but wear it to work and am trying to be careful. I also had numbness it is kinda weird.

Glad you like your job. Try standing and walking in circle around your cube once in a while. The CSR work will get easier. I kinda miss the call center after all I spent 14 years in that enviiroment before moving to retail.

Well glad all is well and that you are feeling better. Just remember to not overdo it. I hear it takes about a year to completely heal.
