Hi all found this site and thought it might be helpful to me with everything I'm going thru now. Let me start by giving you a brief history about myself:

I started having pain on my right side the first part of May. I thought it was another round of diveticalitis(sp?) since I had had it a few month bofore that. Went to family dr. and he told me he tought it was a hernia under my appendix incision and gave me a female exam to confirm his suspections. He sent me to a surgeon to get the hernia removed. The surgeon mashed my stomach and didn't feel anything so he sent me for a ct scan. When the ct scan came back we were all surprised. I had a 10 cm cyst on my left ovary and nothing on the right side at all. The surgeon told me that it needed to come out but he was sending me to my gyno for that. I saw my gyno and he decided to take just the left ovary and the cyst out because of my age (38) that he didn't want to take out both ovaries because of hormones unless the cyst looked like it might come back on the other side once he opened me up. Before he did anything though he decided he had better run the ca-125 cancer blood test even though he said I was probably to young to worry about cancer. The test came back the next week elevated. He still didn't think it could be cancer but he decided I needed to go to a gyno oncologist just to be on the safe side. This was on Wed evening @ 5:00 PM. He was going to send me to The Medical University of South Carolina (1 of the top 100 hospitals in the country) which usually has quite a long waiting list to get to see a dr. The lord worked it out so that I could see the dept head on Fri. of that same week due to a cancelation. Before I saw that dr. he ordered an ultrasound so that he could tell more about what was going on. When I saw him at 3:00 Fri. afternoon he told me that he could not say for sure that it was cancer but it really looked nasty and needed to come out and he gave me the choice if I wanted a complete hystorectomy or not. I told him that I didn't want to take any chances in leaving anything if it was cancer for it to come back and he agreed. The lord worked another miracle that he had a surgery cancelation the following Thurs (6-28-07). I had the surgery and there was cancer in the middle of the mass caused from blood from endometriosis.
The dr. told me that I was really lucky that I went to the dr. when I did. The cancer was contained inside the blood clot which had already grown 2 more cm in the month between the ct scan and surgery (12cm) and my uterus was twice it's normal size due to fibroids which was on their way to becoming cancer. I'm not going to have to take any treatments as of now. They are just going to keep a close eye on my blood work. I go back 8-10-07 for my first ca-125 test since surgery. I pray it comes back normal.
I'm doing pretty good now. Still sore when I ride alot or sit up in a straight chair for a long time. I guess that's normal after 3 1/2 weeks after surgery.
I'll hush for now sorry it's so long.

Welcome to the board. It is so wondreful that it was caught early. If you have to have cancer that is the way to have it be, early and no further problems.

Good luck!
