Hey guys
Well got my results and thought my letter was useless and really vague!!! didnt hardly tell me anything! I thought it would tell me that I no longer needed treatment, if I had clear margins, how deep etc but it didnt so I really dont know if its a positive letter or not and feeling really confused. Let me know your thoughts and if you think this is a standard letter?:-

Following your recent visti to the colposcopy clinic, you will be interested to know that the tissue removed from your cervix showed CIN III (was originally told I had CIN II?).

This is not cancer but it is in the spectrum of pre-cancerous change and accounts for your abnormal smear.

It is highly likely that the entire area of abnormality has been removed by the loop and your cervix may return to normal.

We will see you again in 6months to repeat your colposcopy and smear.

i'm afraid after mys truggle to get any informationa tall on my leep, tahts about teh most information you will obtain from the nhs here in the uk.

my gynos secretary told me taht it is a ruling over the cvolposcopy clinics taht they can only release limited information - mind she also todl me taht tehyw ouldnt send my doctora copy of my report, which turned out to eb rubbish as with my perceverence she faxed him one, but the levl of my dysplasia, and a hinting that i would need further treatmentw as all that it contained.

i even asked my doctora bout hwo deep they'd gone,e xpalining taht i was aware if you had numberous leeps taht it can effect if you acn carry long term, but my doctor couldnt tell me anythinga bout taht, he just said that what it may effect is if i could give birth naturally in teh future as oppose to if i coudl acrrya baby.

i guess having read everyone elses results on here i'd exopected something big, liek we took a biiopsy of ...... in size, and we found that this was ....... dysplasia, hwoever we are pelased to tell you it had ..... clear margins, and this would suggest taht we have removed it all. a soppose to teh "hopefullyw e have removed it all".

I don't live in the UK so I can't speak to how things are done there but for me, that letter wouldn't be sufficient enough. I would definitely want to know more. Are you able to call your doctor and get a better explanation/more info?

the doctors here get limite dinformation from teh gynocologists.

the national healtrh servcie restricts what information the gynocologist can provide: they do not give information therefor on sizes/depths of biopsies, and the width of clear margins. this is teh one downsid etoa national health scheme, although elsewhere you pay you do get provided with mroe information as your healths ervcies are privately run.

i too have hit the same brick wall as smith.
