Hi All

I have pretty much been 100% with a few blips for 11 months.

This sunday after an exhausting weekend at a festival I have been hit with it fully again like when it started.Off balance, internal motion, really dizzy?

Anybody else had this? Does it take as long as the first time to go away.

Devastated.Only 3 days ago I was 100%!!!!!!

Dizzy keep your head up. This could be your last big blip for your brain to finalize the information. You are going to be at 2 years in Aug, right? You are doing great, think positive! Back in June, bascially the whole month I had the worse blip ever, It was like where I started from the beginning, my vision and balance was aweful. Now since Im out of it, I feel awesome! Better then I did a few months ago. There's hope, your brain just needs a little more time to work things out.

Hang in there man

When you're at your best, this junk feels the worst, and sometimes you're not as bad as it used to be, but having this when you're feeling 100% makes it feel worse.

You were right on the money when you incorporated the MAV treatment, and it sped up your recovery, so you'll get there soon.

Take in account that MAV as it is in your case, is a well controlled condition once diagnosed, and you'll be cool most of the time, just taking care of yourself, but unfortunately Migraine is not fully curable so, maybe some bigger blip from time to time is not ruled out, but keeping your path surely will make them much more far and away, and practically disappear.

Surely the exhaustion from the festival took a toll, sometimes you catch a cold after something like that, so, don't worry you'll be back to where you were soon.

Keep it up, talk to your doc for advice, and you'll be back to 100% soon.

As Stargrave says you have MAV as do I. Migraine is controllable but not always curable - although for some people it does seem to fade out and not return. Although my condition is controlled with drugs - it can be brought on by big events - huge stress or anxiety - really burning the candle at both ends and not getting enough sleep etc...

You are probably having breakthrough symptoms which the drugs are not controlling entirely. I've had some really bad relapses. The good news is I have got better again. And no it doesn't take as long by any means in my experience. My last two relapses have been a few weeks, although I can have a bout of bad symptoms that lasts a few days.

If it really doesn't clear up after a while, you can try upping the dose of your drug - you're on pizotifen, right? If you have come off the drug I would advise going back on it.

I know it's horrible, I've been there, but the important thing is not to panic. It will pass.

Hi guys

Thanks for all the kind words and reassurances - Im sure these breakthrough symptoms will pass - its juts the first time they have been so intense since the onset of this junk back in 2005.

Ive had a few minor blip periods- but whoah- i really am all over the place at the mo and have been in tears for the first time since I got this thing - like reliving a nightmare.

I have learnt 2 things:

1) This thing will always be my weak point and I must be carful
2) How much I enjoy feeling 100%, to the point I almost took it for advantage (its funny only last week i was walking and thinking 'gee its great not to be dizzy!')

HBEP- now back on the pitozifen big time, resting up and seeing the reliable Dr Davies (its been so long since Ive seen her she has now moved to Great Ormond Street!)

Thanks again guys - I will let you know how things progress.

a very dizzy Rascal
