I have been told 6 weeks and just wondered what the first time after Leep is like? will it hurt etc?

I just feel nervous about it.

I was told to wait six weeks. Its almost been five weeks for me. I don't think it will hurt or anything. We wait so long because our bodies need time to heal and you don't want anything foreign in there to cause irritation or infection. I will probably take it slow just in case, I don't want any suprises!

My Dr. told me no sex until he sees me for my follow up in a week. That was the only restriction he gave me. I guess it all depends on how much they take off.

I was initially told 4 to 6 weeks but to wait until my 4 week follow-up to determine how I was healing. I had that appointment yesterday and my doctor suggested I wait the additional two weeks. She thought I was healing well but thought I needed more time and even then, to expect blood after intercourse initially.

I was told at least 4 weeks as well and she said I need to wait for clearance from her after my follow up appt (in two more weeks) I can say though that yes, I am going to be a bit nervous about it. I certainly do not want to "damage" anything down there. I was nervous enough after my last two biopsies so its 10 times more nerve wracking after the LEEP. However, after going 4 weeks without sex perhaps the worrying will be far gone. ;)

BTW was anyone told to use condoms after the LEEP in order to avoid any type of infection? I heard that earlier and asked my doctor, she said that it should not be a concern...but I don't know?

I was initially told 2-4 weeks but just got the OK yesterday after my follow up appt that things could resume after two weeks mark. My dr did say bleeding wouldn't be unusual and to be gentle.

i was tiold 4 weeks...my 4 week date was yesterday, but im still holding off at teh moment....im just warey thats all.

I was told 4-6 weeks, but don't mind telling you I was very nervous!! It wasn't bad and gets better all the time . When your ready you'll know.. go at your own pace, but the longer you wait the more you stress about it..Good Luck!!

My doctor told me to wait 2 weeks before using a tampon and 4 weeks before having sex. I have an appointment to see her at the 5 week mark and I'm just going to wait the extra week until I've seen her.

I'm not nervous about having sex. At all. My boyfriend better rest up before I get clearance because I'm going to attack him like sex is going out of style.

haha, I love it! I was telling my boyfriend last night that I cant believe its only been 2 wks, feels more like 2 months! Though of course prior to that we had to take a week off from the biopsy too.

Question--for those that recently had the LEEP are you still experiencing discharge? I will be at the 3 week mark on Tuesday...and still have some discharge. On the nice side, I did not experience bleeding! yay!
