I have had Epilepsy since I was 3 years old. When I was younger I had Grand Mal Seizures. I didn't have them for about 20 years. I haven't had another one in over 12 years, so I feel they are under control. However, I am now 35 years old and have been having what are called Simple Partial Seizures for the past 2 years. I feel I have seizures alot during my sleep, and every now and then have the SPS during the day. I was just wondering why I have different seizures now that I am older?

Yes!,your seizures can change as you get older. For some they can become
worse, others better. It is all in the person. But,you are getting close to
the perimenopause age,and the age that mine became worse. For alot
of women they do change during those years.
If I were you, since you were able to control them all those other years,I
would definitely go see a dr. about changing my meds. or putting me back on
it,if you haven't been taking medicine all those years.

If it is your hormones changing that is making your seizure activity change,
it could be catamenial epilepsy now.

Take care,Sherri

Thank you, Sherri. I thought the doctors had everything under control. I can't believe all I am finding out now. I hope the doctors understand what I will be telling them, next week. Because, it seems like now I am having these seizures during my mentrual cycle. So, that pre-menopausal age sounds right.

Thanks again. Have a nice day!!
