Hi Ladies,

I'm having a CT scan tomorrow morning on my left kidney. Back in February, I had an ultrasound which showed a 1.2 cm tumor in my kidney. At that time, a CT with contrast was recommended, but my doctor never followed through on it.

We have a new primary care physician now, and the first thing he did was to set up this CT scan for me. He said it's probably just a benign angiomyolipoma, but given that I was diagnosed with CIS this year, he felt like we should take a look, just to be on the safe side.

If you could, please keep me in your prayers that everything will be okay.

I know someone that went throught the same exact thing and it was benign - and she is totally fine now-though it was a scare and 1/2.

How did it go today? Did you have any troubles with the contrast agent? The lady scared the heck out of me when she was going over the procedure with me. She made it sound WAY worse than it turned out to be. I experienced a mild warming sensation that lasted only seconds. They didn't say anything about dehydration afterwards, but I really felt like I was. I rememeber being extrememly thirsty throughout the day regardless of how much water I drank.

Hi everyone and thanks for the prayers and good thoughts. The CT went well with no problems. They did inject the contrast medium and I felt the normal 'warm feeling" run through me. That was okay. It was the contrast stuff they had me drink last night and this morning that was the hard part. The stuff was nasty and has forever ruined my taste for coconut. I was queasy all day from that stuff.

Anyway, guess I'll find out in a few days how everything went. They made me a copy of the CD, but I can't tell too much of what I'm looking at. I can identify my internal organs, but don't know if what I'm looking at is normal or not.

I'll give an update when I get one.

Hi ladies,

My husband and I were out running errands all day yesterday and the doctor's office called the house with my CT results. By the time I got the message, the office was already closed, so now I have to wait until Monday to find out anything.

Why does that seem to always happen?!
