Hi there!
I went to the gyno about a month ago and came back with ASCUS and HPV+ although I'm not sure if I have the high or low strain.
I just want to know if it is possible to get the copies of lab work? Or is the patient denied them?

You have the right to have copies of your lab work. Alot of times you have to request it. If you don't understand it ask your doctor to explain them.

Hi!
Like Sher said, you absolutely have the right to a copy of all your medical records. Call the office's secretary and request a copy of the particular records you want.
Also, if you're getting ASCUS pap results, more than likely you have high-risk HPV. I'm not entirely sure of low-risk HPV causes abnormalities to show up on a pap smear, but this is definitely caused by the high-risk kinds. The low-risk strains are benign and the worst they can do is cause genital warts. High-risk do not cause warts but can create pre-canceroues cellular changes on your cervix, creating an abnormal pap result.

thank you guys so much, you were right I was able to get the reports right away.
Ok so I had the col/bio today. The bio went fine, he just took out one little piece that he said looked whiter than the rest. And the only part that hurt was when he took the speculum out. He said that he was trying to hold down the tampon and something else, but man I don't know that hurt like a ****, I even kind of screamed and my butt jumped up. ikes but now I'm fine.
Does anyone know the recovery rate for a bio. Because I want to exercise but I can't.

It probably differs for everyone. I had a very short recovery time from my colpo/biopsy, just some mild cramping for the rest of the day. They took two little pieces from me. The next day had a little discharge but I walked on the treadmill and just took it easy. I had no limitations after that.

My first biopsy i cramped and had bleeding for a few days- i had 6 sections taken though. This last time i had only one section and cramped only that day. The mental stress was worse then the cramps and healing!! take care and TRY NOT TO STRESS!

Thanks to everyone for their advise and support.
Just one more thing though, I noticed some weird crap coming out of me since the col/bio. I had the regular brown dischage and such but I also has like weird stuff.
The first time it looked like some of the cotton from the tampon like thing he stuck in me so the bleeding would stop, and so I would heal with no infection ---or something like that. That part I was fine with, but what I'm not fine with is the other thing that came out taday.
It looked like a long worm string of cells or something and it didn't look or feel like the cotton piece that came out the first time. Did this ever happen to anyone else before!!!!
