hi! im new to the thread but have been searching for a forum that would cater to my health questions and help me out, as i work alot and magazines/books about fitness arent my thing.

HERE'S THE QUESTION:

i run 3 or four days a week, ive been running either around my neighborhood for around 45-60 minutes (I live in the mountains) or i've been going to the gym and using the elliptical machine for about 40 minutes along with some brief weight machine reps...which plan would be more effective to tone me down?

my goal is to lose about five pounds, i am a 5'2 female, 21 years old and i've always been a runner/ involved with sports but have recently been trying to find a way to tone down in a more immediate and longterm way...a exercise plan i guess you could say!
HELP??!?!?! PLEASE!

Do both. :) You want to incorperate some weight training to maintain your lean muscle and keep metabolism high, as well as doing running or eliptical for cardio to burn additional calories. You also should address diet. All the exercise in the world won't compensate for a crappy diet in the realm of weight loss. When you get all 3 working for you, you should be able to drop 5 pounds fairly easily.
