View Full Version : Please review my routine, not seeing results!

Info: 21, 5'7 & 116 lbs
Goal: "Tone" legs, bum & stomach (get rid of the pouch)
Diet: Strict vegetarian - lots of veggies, rice, fruit, whey protein shakes
Routine: Gym Mon-Fri: 20 minutes on elliptical trainer (highest resistance) then 40 minutes of circut training on machines for legs, bum, thighs & abs. Monday evenings I go to "BLT" class a program designed to target the Butt, legs & tummy. Wednesday evenings I go to Pilates class.

I have been really strict with my routine for atleast 2 months now & have not noticed any real results. I know that you have to burn the fat to see results but I don't feel I can afford to loose anymore weight, especially from my face and arms. I do have a belly "pouch" but I find that when I loose weight I loose it everywhere but there. Any ideas or suggestions?

You should consider taking up a real weight training regimen. If you put on some more lean muscle, you may gain a little *weight* but you'll be able to lose more *fat* healthfully, as well as putting some muscle tone on your body. To do that you may have to up your protein a little as well. Do you know roughly how much protein you're getting daily?
You may also have to really consider that your genetic blueprint may not let you healthfully lose the pooch. Sometimes that is simply the case, unfair as it is. But don't lose hope yet. ;) See what some strength training does for you and then reassess in 6-8 weeks.

i definitely agree with axis. you should get some more lean muscle. i had some excess fat on my abs and i just started and i got rid of that real fast even though i'm taking a 900 calorie protein shake twice a day. and it was all through weight training.
