My 5 month old granddaughter has developed 4-5 bright pink mole-looking bumps on her chest and torso. Her pediatrician seems unconcerned, but my father has skin cancer and cancer runs thru both sides of the family, so I'm worried about these. My daughter (her mother) has a few moles, but they didn't develop until she was in her late teens. Anyone know what they might be?

My son also has a tiny, tiny pink mole on his thigh, it's super light, but I asked my doctor about it. He said as long as it doesn't get bigger or change color, then not to worry.;)

They may be birthmarks or also called hemangiomas. They are totally benign little areas that the capillaries clustered together right under the skin giving it the "pink" look. They will probably fade in a couple of years. Just keep and eye on them.

They are raised up like a skin tag, not flat.
