Hi:

Geodon is a lot like lithium where the levels have to be within a certain range to work properly. If you are not getting enough you could go manic if you are taking too much it puts you to sleep. I am unsure how to correct this with out a doctors help

take care

All meds can do goofy things to a person. I think this one is not a mood stabliozer.

You can experience hypertension with Geodon, I just started taking it (40mgs) and am having the same problem. I called my pdoc and he said that it needs to get into my system, if it persist he can either lower or up my dose to see if it subsides. He also said that there is an antidote med for this it if continues called Congentin. I've been on Congentin with Abilifiy and it works great...

You're correct. I've been on Geodon in the past and it's an antipsychotic.

my doctor told me you must take at least 120mg of geodon or it could make you manic. Dee-nah, Im suprised your doctor put you on 40mg.

I just started taking Geodon and I'm med sensitive, I'm also tapering off Tegretol at the same time... I don't do good on meds so I have to start low and gradually work my way up... I'm actually on 80mgs a day (40mgs a.m, 40mgs p.m.)
