HI I was wondering what has worked best for your pain. I have severe pain in my right jaw area and my teeth upper and lower. I have taken Moltrin 800 with no relief. NOw my Dr gave me Tylenol with Codene and no relief. Im about to jump off a bridge. The dr wont see me for 3 weeks and Im calling Monday to say I need to be seen now!! Im starting to wonder if it is TMJ or not. Like I said the pain moves all around my right side of my face. In my jaw, teeth, neck. Anyone else experience these same symtoms. Thanks for any help you can give me. Im suicidal!! Mindy

There a few things which might help you in the short term
Heat Therapy: get a wheat bag, microwave it say for 2 -3 minutes and place it where the pain is.
Arnica; this is a plant which is know for its anti-inflammatory properties so rub some lotion around your jaw area.
Cervical pillow; these look like a 'p' on its side in section, the bulge going under your neck when you sleep which helps with the posture.
Ibuprofen: this works as an anti inflammatory as well
Stretching exercises:my 'normal' dentist (i.e he just a fillings and maintenance man) showed me some exercises to stretch the facial muscles kind of similar to what runners do to in effect

I find if I do all the above I can really take the edge off the pain and feel empowered.

Long term I think splint therapy is the way to go. I'm being fitted for mine August 10th

Hope these tips will help you!

Try a muscle relaxer such as Flexeril. Low dose of Xanax also helps.

I forgot to mention that Acupuncture has helped me a lot.
