well every half a year or so i seem to wake up one morning and im unable to open my eyes, i dont know why. but when light shines on my eyes they begin to sting really bad, forcing me to close them. i also tear a lot from my eyes, its like continuous tears coming out. i have no idea why this is, but i do wear hard contacts and am not sure if thats the cause. any feedback would help thanks

You say this happens every half year, but how much every 6 months? Is this one day? Or is it a week straight?
