I hate it, it is not worth $40 either! My son does not like it and as soon as he is in it one leg slides in, and he slouches to the side, he is the typical size of a 4 1/2 month old, not to small, not too big, age reccomendations for this are 3 months and up, all i got to say is, i should have kept the reciept!!!!!

I'm so sorry the Bumbo has not worked out for you. Maybe if you can't return it - you can try it again in a month or so and see if it works out any better.

It worked out really well for my twin boys. We started them in it at about 5 months and they got a little too big for it at about 10 months. They actually liked being able to sit up and look around, and it freed up my hands for short durations of time.

I love ours. When I was working, I put my dd in it right at 3 months and set her on my desk. She is now 8.5 months, and we still take it everywhere. If we go to a restaurant, we use it instead of a high chair.

my little guy would like it if he didnt slide in it into an uncomforable position, im thinking about buyin the little tray for it to see if that helps, i wanna get some use out of a $40 chair

My twins like them - it's so great to have one be able to sit up while I sit with the other one, rather than having someone laying down or propped in a bouncy seat or swing (which they're kind of getting sick of now!). BUT... if you can't get yours to like it, you can always resell on craigslist - I think they're a pretty hot item right now, and you could probably get at least half of your money back. Actually, I think people who are searching for bumbo seats often post their requests on craigslist, and you might be able to sell them that way too.

Ds didn't like it when he was really little either, but now at 14 months he thinks it's the greatest. He likes to sit in it and eat snacks. I occasionally put it up to the table as a booster seat (only when I can be right there since it doesn't have straps), and he thinks he is big stuff in it. He know carries it around and asks to sit in it- it's so cute. I would suggest hanging onto it and trying again when she is a little older. I thought we wasted our money at first too.

we don't have one, but our friends do, and it's my THREE YEAR OLD i can't keep out of the thing! she loves it! so weird...

juniorsmommy, have you tried an exersaucer with your baby yet? for each of mine, at three months old, i'd to lower our exersaucer to the lowest level and roll up a couple of receiving blankets and use them to help my baby sit in the exersaucer. i'd put the blankets in front of the baby, one at tummy level, and one just above it and at first, i'd sit her so she was leaning against the back of the seat (not slumping forwards). after she got better control of her head, i'd let her sit up more. i don't know WHY, but both my girls LOVED being in the exersaucer even at that early age (and my youngest was a clingy little pain in the butt for her first 4-5 months!! the exersaucer gave me at least a good 20-30 minute break most days!).

anyway, definitely hang onto the bumpo because i've talked to a lot of moms who's babies hated it at first, but love it later... :)
