I have been wearing contacts for about a year now but recently I havent been taking them out everynight as I should be, instead I sleep with them in and I dont change them every 2 weeks like Im supposed to. I do this because when I take my contacts out the vision is so blurry I can barely make out anything and Im onlyl 14 years old. It scares me to wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to see, what can I do? Please help!

my eye doctor told me sleeping in them is what starts eye problems, so i suggest to stop doing that. and if you never change then im sure that will cause alot of problems aswell, plus wont they start disentigating eventually? dont you have glasses to wear for when they are out? and what is there to see in the dark anyways? if you have glasses u can have them within reach to put on in the middle of the night.

If you continue to wear them overnight, and don't even switch them every two weeks, you'll eventually end up not being able to wear them often. You could develop something called GPC, and be unable to wear them for awhile, or maybe even ever again. Other problems could develop as well.
It's not good for your eyes. LIke goatofthenever just said, you should have a pair of glasses as well. Keep them within reach. Whatever you do, stop wearing them overnight, and please replace them every two weeks. Your doctor gave you those instructions for a reason.

I agree! Please, please PLEASE don't wear them all night. I've had an ophthalmologist, 2 optometrists and numerous technicians tell me that the one of the worst things a contact lens wearer can do to his eyes is wear them all night. Even the ones that are "designed" for it. You're so young... you want to keep your eyes healthy so you can continue to wear contacts freely. (kiana)
