when i was young i rode horses, only 2 quickly discover im allergic to them. i have lived with dogs most my life but started to suffer from eczema which gets alot worse i have contact with dogs. now i i have a dog or a cat in my bedroom i cant sleep all night because my sinuses are so bad. Am also allergic to dust which dosent help but there must be something i can do other than not touching my pets?????

Are you not on any meds? I'd certainly give them a try. Since you have an animal dander problem, I suggest Zyrtec (cetirizine).

I vote for zyrtec as well.

1) Also keep the animals out of your bedroom.
2) Wash hands after petting.
3) Vacuum and wash upholstry and carpets routinely with a steam cleaner and allergen reducer mix.
4) Get matress and pillow covers - allergen certified.
5) Dust routinely.

I have a cat, three dogs, and horse. We get along just fine. Allergy shots are your next and final options after the anti-histamine. In addition to an anti-histamine/decongestant comination look into using a saline nasal spray 4x daily, simply saline (decongestant free is my favorite), and also try adding OTC ponaris nasal oil before bed. You often have to ask the pharmacist to order the oil.

Sincerely,
MG
