My story short.....had an abnormal pap in Dec 2004, (LSIL), follow up pap (sept 2005) normal (except I had BV apparently, I wouldn't have known), Next pap, Nov 2006 abnormal again, (LSIL) again, colposcopy scheduled for Feb but cancelled cause I had just found out I was pregnant. Colpoc rescheduled for July 27 at 28 weeks pregnant. Had it Friday and she couldn't even see anything in there, no sign of dysplasia so she wouldn't have had anything to biopsy even if I wasn't pregnant!!!! I will go back in Dec for my post partum pap and take it from there.

This is good news right???!!!!

Hi there,
From my understanding, they don't know the results until a few days after the samples have been sent to lab. Did you get the final results yet? I was 24 weeks pregnant when I had a colposcopy done and my doc also told me she did not SEE anything but the report came back with severe dysplasia and 3 months after I had my baby I was diagnosed with stage 1b cervical cancer. I don't mean to scare you but I would get a second opinion just for your peace of mind. Good luck.

well she must have seen something in order to take a biopsy to get those results. I did have a colposcopy, that's what I was saying. There were no abnormal areas in the colposcopy, so when they shot the vinegar in, nothing turned white, therefor no areas to biopsy, no sign of dysplasia. They can only take samples if there are areas that "light" up.

I'm really sorry about your situation though, I hope you're ok.

That's great news! I hope your next Pap will be remarkably unremarkable! :)

Hugs,

Thanks Shashi! I'm hoping for that too but for now, I think I'll just relax a bit and enjoy the end of my pregnancy!

and Sharona I should have been more clear to begin with, in my original paps it was not confirmed I had dysplasia at all, the colpoc was done to see if it was dysplasia and I'm thinking based on the fact that nothing was observed that either it took care of itself (it was low grade) or wasn't truly dysplasia to begin with.
