Shaman 09-15-2003, 06:47 PM Your question is way too broad for me to suggest any one place. I would suggest you read up on Neuro-Ophthamology. This is a subspecialty of ophthamology which deals with neurological problems that manifest themselves in the eyes. There are a couple of places in the US that specialize in this, the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute is one of them. Happy hunting. MJWINNER 01-08-2005, 11:24 AM My 13 Year Old Son Lost Complete Color Vision In His Right Eye In An Intstant. On 12/31/04 My Son And I Were Lounging On The Bow Of A Boat In Marathon Florida. He Layed Back And Closed His Eyes For About 5 Minutes, Then Opened Them Before Sitting Back Up And Remarked "wow That Sun Is Strong" Sat Up And Covered His Eyes With His Hands. I Looked Up To And Agreed That The Sun Was Really Bright. When He Uncovered His Eyes, He Noticed That Everything He Looked At With His Right Eye Was Black, white And Shades Of Gray. I Thought That It Would Go Back To Normal In A Few Minutes Out Of The Sun, But It Still Hasn't. It's Now January 8,2005. The Following Night He Suffered An Intense Migraine. (never Had One Before) I Took Him To His Pediatrician Today, The Doctor Has Never Seen This Before. David,(my Son) Is Scheduled For A Cat Scan And To See A Retinal Opthamologist On Tuesday This Upcoming Week. I Have Been Searching The Internet For This Condition And Haven't Found Anything On This Condition Yet. Could You Give Me Some Web Addresses That I Could Research This Issue On? Your Speedy Response To This Matter Would Be Greatly Appreciated. Thank You MJWINNER 01-08-2005, 11:27 AM My 13 Year Old Son Lost Complete Color Vision In His Right Eye In An Intstant. Thank You donnab 02-03-2005, 11:40 PM I would suggest that if you are looking for info on any kind of rare or out of the ordinary eye problems to search the sites for National Institutes of Health and the National Eye Institute. Research is done there on a huge range of diseases and disorders. sk3499 02-06-2005, 01:03 AM My 13 Year Old Son Lost Complete Color Vision In His Right Eye In An Intstant. As I have my own problems related to it; I have mad several MRIs and seen many specialists, but they don't have a clue. I have different symptoms that the boy you talk about though, so hopefully they will be able to help him. I on the other hand see no help in the future, but good luck to you. |
