I started on 10 mg. of Lipitor about 3 months ago. It has dropped my cholesterol from 243 down to 145----but I've noticed that every evening about 1/2 hour after I take it (I take it about 9 p.m.) my stomach starts gurgling and feels distended with gas. I really begiin not feeling all that well. When I go to bed, I seem to get relief by sleeping on my stomach but that isn't very good for my back. Do other people get bad effects from Lipitor? Sometime I get a cramp in the calf of my leg but not too frequently. Is there another statin that is better than Lipitor? Can I just quite taking it "cold turkey". Can I cut a 10 mg. pill in half without die circumstances?

It seems to be working very well.

Try taking it with food.

Everybody gets them from time to time...not to worry.

Probably none BETTER but simvastatin is quite good and a LOT cheaper.

Can I just quite taking it "cold turkey".

Yes.

Yes indeed...it's cheaper that way.;)

I had horriable gastric problems on Lipitor, even acid reflux. You name it, I had it... I even had the leg cramps.. I had a whole lot more side effects than those but I won't bore you with them...

Thing is, all my mysterious ailments went away when I got off the Lipitor and I am taking natural supplements to keep my cholesterol down now with NO side effects!
