Hi, im new here and im so glad ive found this site as im outa my mind with worry. Here goes, basically, i have a boyfriend who i am very much in love with but the other night i got really paraletic drunk and ended up doing some stuff with my friend who is a girl. she has genital herpes although im not sure which strain. as far as i can remember, she gave me oral sex but i dont think i did the same to her. she also got out a vibrator or hers although she only put it on me, not inside. now i am just sick with worry that i could have caught herpes even though as far as i know she is not having an outbreak at the moment. i dont want to pass anything on to my boyfriend and i made a terrible mistake that i am truely sorry for (please dont judge me!) i just wondered if anybody knows how much of a risk i have taken and also if i dont get any symptoms, can i still get tested? please help, i cant sleep with worry. thanks xx

Yes you can be tested even if you don’t get any symptoms but you’ll have to wait a long while before a blood test will show positive. So in other words if you test too soon you will show negative but (there is that likely hood that you’d be positive) and hence not know it and continue to pass it along.
