Flaxseed oil, vitamin C, pinapple, drinking a lot of water, etc. None of it will hurt you but your vision is ultimately determined by the shape of the cornea post surgery. All that other stuff is fluff and cannot change the shape of the cornea. Either they get right during surgery or they don't. And if they get it right, you got to hope you don't regress by regrowing tissue to change the shape of the cornea. You can take all the vitamin C, pinapple, Flaxseed oil and pinapple you want, but it won't affect the final shape of your cornea post surgery which determines your refraction and your vision.

It is true that Vit C and the rest will not change the refractive properties of the cornea post surgery but some studies suggest that they might help to minimise corneal haze after a surface treatment. Whether or not it does, if you've had/are having a surface treatment done it couldn't hurt to dose up.

It won't help with Lasik recovery though. But hey, you might not get the sniffles this month

where the previous poster is right, vitamin c won't improve your vision by changing the shape of your cornea, i'd be willing to be that it can help speed up the healing of your cornea, which will does affect your vision. while your corneas are still healing, your vision is still changing. it takes a good 3-6 months for the corneas to heal! you are barely one month post-op, so you're not done yet! that is why your doctors and everyone else around you tells you to be patient!

someone on one of these threads said (to you) that if your vision isn't 20/20 by the end of week one, it isn't going to be... well that isn't necessarily true. my vision was crap for almost three months before it decided to get better! i had all the same feelings you are having. i was convinced the doctor screwed up, that he'd undercorrected me, that my contacts had something to do with it, i was going to have to get glasses, i needed an enhancement, they mapped it wrong, etc.... i was SOOOO mad at my husband for talking me into getting the surgery, and i just wanted my simple life of contact lense wearing back!!! now 8 months post surgery, my vision is 20/12.5 in both eyes (has been for a couple of months now!).

anyway, i would definitely take the vitamin c! there is a product called nutraview, which contains vitamin C, lutein, blueberries, and bilberries, which are all supposed to be good for the health of your eyes. i don't recall who makes it, but your doctor might be able to tell you. also, make sure you use your artificial tears constantly! i didn't use mine enough for the first couple of months (didn't think i needed them), and at my 2 month check up my doctor said my eyes were very dry and that i needed to use them at least 4 times a day! i had a drastic improvement in my vision within days of starting that regimen, and it just kept improving after that! be patient and give yourself real time to heal!

Thanks for that.....My vision actually is improving somewhat (blurriness/haze) however I am using glasses because I am undercorrected......Did you use glasses during the 1st months when your vision wasn't too great???? Wonder if this would slow down the healing.....I'll probably be getting an enhancement in 3 months (hopefully) if my eyesight does not improve to at least how I am seeing with glasses.......

are you certain you are undercorrected? what did your doctor say about wearing glasses? i did not use them because my doctor told me not to. but all doctors have different opionions and methods.... anyway, hope things clear up soon!

Well I asked them for a my prescription because I was having trouble seeing, especially at night......I'm still a -2 in both eyes from a -8......so I really feel i am undercorrected....When I wear my glasses I can read signs from a distance where without them I can't at all....so I really think I'll need an enhancement........
