Hi there
So many of us have been where you are right now. I know that's not much of a comfort but at least you know sometimes that's how the system works.
and not just in the mental health field either. It's can be very frustrating, and I think most of the docs are overloaded as it is, so they do the best
they can. Sometimes it helps to do a little research yourself online. Different drugs, side effects, ones you would be willing to try and then tell
your doc youve been doing some research and would like to try this med ask
himher if it's a good choice/option. Gives you some control and takes some of the pressure off of him/her. I always check out a med on line before I take it. Also keep in mind, doctors prescribe based on the general public.
Some people need more others less. My doctor just shakes his head when I tell him I only need 1/2 or 1/4 the dose. Also consider keeping a a med journal, side effects, dosage, etc etc. Hang in there, posting here was your way of saying Im still trying, Im hanging on, Im not going to quit. Rani*

Restless ~ Just wanted to welcome you. The meds are the trickiest part of this whole process, it took us over a year to find the right combo for my daughter who is 16. You have a bit more going on that will be more challenging but you will get there.

It will go alot quicker if you can keep track of the meds, how they worked, the dosages and your mood at the time in a journal. That way you will have something concrete that the doctor can look at to see how he might better address your needs in terms of meds.

Sometimes you will need to find a new pdoc who is more knowledgeable with the meds to get you there.

Don't give up....it's like a roll of the dice, eventually the right combo will come up!!;)
