I had my LEEP 3 weeks ago, and just had my first period since starting today. It is SO heavy, I have never experienced one like this...at least not since I went on birth control. Has anyone else had this post-LEEP?

Has anyone else had this post-LEEP? fluffybottom 08-01-2007, 04:55 PM I had my period last week -- it wasn't any heavier than usual but it started later. Because of my birth control, my period always starts on Tuesday but this time, it didn't start until Thursday. However, it wasn't heavier and longer than usual. k2626 08-01-2007, 05:20 PM Lucky you. Are you having any post LEEP discharge still? I cannot handle this, it is the worst not being able to use tampons. :( smith77 08-02-2007, 05:44 AM Oh my god I have had the heaviest period ever!!! I was losing huge clots and couldnt leave the house for two days. I rang my doctors in tears and all he said was " well I did tell you your periods would be slighly heavier" but I didnt think he meant it would be gushing out of me!!! I ended up covering my bed in blood it was awful and left me slightly aneamic! My gynocologist said its normal after leep and next period might be the same.....Im continuing taking my pill this time as cant cope with a period like that for awhile x joski22 08-02-2007, 11:01 AM K - I'm in the same boat, girl! I got my period five weeks after my LEEP procedure - don't know why it was off schedule like that. I am now on day 7 of my period and it's still really heavy, with no sign of letting up any time soon. I'm fortunate in that I can use tampons now, but this is unbelievable! I also "feel" different -- very hormonal (bloated, tired, puffy). Do you? I've been reading your posts, and you seem to be doing great so far. Hang in, we'll get through it. Hopefully our systems will get back to normal real soon. fluffybottom 08-02-2007, 01:23 PM I still have a bit of discharge but not too bad. I was also able to use a tampon towards the end of my period last week with no ill effects. My doctor had told me I could use tampons after two weeks but I was still nervous. It was all good though. k2626 08-02-2007, 01:49 PM Joski-yes, I have felt so tired! I think its because I have lost half the blood in my body! LOL jdub4040 08-05-2007, 05:13 PM I am almost 3 weeks post leep, and am barely having any discharge. Also, I am supposed to start my period this week, but I asked my doc if I could take my pills straight through and skip it since I can't use tampons yet. She said that was fine. I hope it works! I've not ever taken my pills straight through. joski22 08-06-2007, 07:55 PM jdub - Glad you're doing well in your recovery! I've never taken the pill straight through to prevent a period (but always wanted to try it). Keep us posted, and let us know how you make out. Good luck!:) |
