Hi, I just found this board and I was wondering if anyone knows if an mri can reveal whether a lesion is benign or malignant? I was just told I have 3 benign lesions on my liver. My doctor is on vacation and that is all the information the nurse would give me until he returns. Oh, and the recommended followup is another mri in 3 months. First, I thought a biopsy was the only way to determine for sure and second, why a followup mri if they are benign?
(I had an u/s for possible gall bladder issues and they saw a lesion so I was sent for mri which now reveals the 3 lesions mentioned above. u/s radiologist impression was that it (the one) was an adenoma and recommended mri)
Also, I am single and I don't really have much support and it is kind of scary wondering about work and insurance and things if this really is something. Do any of you go to support groups?
Thanks for listening and I appreciate any feedback. Thanks
